Note: Refer to Scan documents to PDF for more details on how you can change the default settings to enhance scanned documents. At this point, you’ve got an improved image of your document, but you still cannot edit, select, or search the text. When you are done, click Close to return to the main Enhance Scans menu. In the resulting enhanced image preview, drag the Adjust enhancement level slider left or right to decrease or increase the contrast. Align the dots along the edges of the document to fix the skewing and click Enhance Page. Note: You may wish to save the PDF with a new file name to preserve the original document’s contents.
CONVERT PDF TO EPUB USING ADOBE ACROBAT SOFTWARE
this means whatever software you use will try but the result depends on the internal structure of the content of the pdf. both are container formats.Īll you can is "adapt" the pdf you have to an epub container. There is certainly some other way to achieve the same thing, but amazon seems to have access to good software/a good conversion algorithm for stripping the formatting from pdfs. And I’m not sure if it’s possible if you don’t have a physical kindle linked to your kindle account. The best way I have found to convert those (oddly) is to use kindle’s “send to kindle” + conversion feature (if you email a pdf and put “convert” in the subject they convert it to azw3 before sending it to your kindle) and then pulling and converting THAT file to epub.

If the pdf file is OK (in the sense that it’s actually all accurate text and wasn’t created using a scan of a paper book + OCR) it will be.sort of OK as an epub. I’ve heard that converting to kepub (a kobo-specific version of epub) instead gives a slightly better experience but I haven’t played with that yet (and you might need some kind of plugin with calibre, not sure.)

I convert other files (not pdfs) to epub using calibre and do get those features.
